We have not cleaned or polished this pull, but have left the old patina on the cast brass. If you want, it can be shined to a bright brass, but then it would not look as old. It dates in the Victorian era, 1880s to 1915. This is a top-quality pull in that the back plate and swing bail are cast brass.
The back plate, which reminds us of an English royal crest, measures 4 inches across and 2 inches vertically. The hole centers are 3 inches. The bail is fancy and highly decorated. The eye bolts are inserted from the front and are secured on the back of the drawer with nuts. The drop from the top of the plate to the bottom of the bail is 2 1/2 inches. Nuts are included.
