This exquisite entry door set is made of heavy cast brass or bronze. It is from the Victorian era (1870-1915). During that period, cast bronze was also a popular medium. We feel this may be bronze because of its deeper warm patina.
The back plate measures 11 inches long and 3 inches wide at its widest point. The single keyhole is 2 1/4 inches below the door knob hole.
The door knob is quite heavy and has a leaf pattern on the top only. The neck fits a 1/4-inch spindle.
We have not cleaned this pair. Their aged patina is perfect. The pair weighs 1 1/2 pounds.
The Old Hardware Store prides itself at furnishing only authentic antique hardware. Each piece is handled with care and respected as if it were a piece of art. This set definitely is an example.
Screws will be provided for the back plate.
