This door bolt could be used at the top of the door–or at the bottom. It is to be mortised into the door. The piece is from the Victorian era (1870-1915). It is cast iron with a Victorian pattern. The bolt is engaged by a thumb lever.
The plate measures 6 inches long and 7/8 inch wide. The depth of the mortise, or the size of the end plate is 1 3/8 inches. There is no keeper. The bolt will need to go into the floor or into the door frame.
Screws will be provided.
