This pocket door pull was manufactured by the Russell and Erwin Company of New Britain, Conn. The company, which started manufacturing builders’ hardware in 1846, acquired the Metallic Compression Casting Company in the early 1870s and started to create compression bronze work. This pocket door pull is an example of one of their ornamental hardware pieces. The pull is not marked, but the pattern is a Russell and Erwin Company design.
The heavy cast pull measures 2 3/4 inches square. The depth of the inset is 1/2 inch. The inset measures 1 7/8 inches round. Screws will be included.
