This pair of steel door knobs were made by Russell and Erwin Mfg. Co. of New Britain, Conn. This pattern appeared in their 1909 catalog, under the pattern name “Century.” Each door knob is a two-piece construction; the top is folded over and crimped to a solid base. At one time, it appears that the knobs had a light bronze finish, but most of that has rubbed off.
The knobs measure 2 1/4 inches across and 1 1/4 inches deep. The pair are in fair condition. They would work well for a rental house or for restoring an old farm house.
A spindle and two set screws are included.
