This beautiful cast iron window latch has a mechanism which controls a catch that fastens or locks into the keeper. It originally had a strong bronze finish. The cast iron is now showing through the bronze finish, showing it’s 130 year age. These are old and have stood the test of time! The pattern is definitely Victorian.
The overall latch measures 2 1/2″ x 1 1/2″, not including the lever.
The latch is marked with the patent date of Dec. 27, 87.
We have cleaned and oiled the latch.
Both pieces are original.
