This old pair of barn door rollers are heavy duty and still quite useful. Stamped on the frame is: “Wyeth Co., St. Joseph, MO. Pat: Dec. 18, 89. 4 IN.” The 4-inches refers to the size of the wheel.
In years past, this pair has been adapted by some Kansas farmer. Instead of the wheels being on a pin axel, the wheels has been bolted to be stationery in one location. They roll smoothly, but do not move from left to right.
The U frame measures from top to bottom, 11 1/2 inches. Across the U, measures 9 inches. Each heavy iron roller assembly weighs 4 pounds, 8 ounces or for a total weight for the pair of over 9 pounds.
We have only brushed off the dirt on this pair. They were made to last more than a lifetime.
